Homemade favors for weddings can be inexpensive without looking cheap. Wedding favors like these are perfect for weddings on a budget. Here are a few suggestions for quick and easy wedding favors.
A wedding towel cake is not an actual cake, but rather a tiered towel arrangement that is often used at bridal showers. Make a towel cake out of towels that will serve as gifts to the bride and groom with help from a chef in this free video on wedding cakes.

While it's reserved for festive occasions, I normally find confetti quite "blah." I usually think of it as little more than paper snippets, boring, matte scraps that could easily be mistaken for hole puncher shavings. Therefore, when I feasted my eyes upon the 3-D heart beaded confetti with rhinestones being sold here by U-Design Biz, I was a little taken aback. In a good way!
Since you don't want birds nipping any kind of confetti off the street, I wouldn't recommend having wedding guests throw this stuff as a send-off. However, including a pinch in a favor-sized pinata like the ones described here at Gangsta Bride, can make for a fun and pleasant surprise. The crafty charm of a DIY pinata's exterior won't prepare guests for the dazzling glamour of the confetti within.Your bridesmaids deserve to be pampered! If you're a bride, you probably fully realize this. But jjust in case you need a reminder:
So again ...these ladies deserve to be pampered!
Which is why I love the idea of giving Favor Savings' "Pamper the Girls" set as a gift.
Nothing says, "Thanks for working hard" like a gift centered on comfort and relaxation. This cute-to-the-max set features waffle weave slippers and a cosmetic bag in either white or pink, monogrammed in honor of each of your bridesmaids. All items are machine washable, so your friends won't have to lift an extra finger to care for their gifts post wedding. All they have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy.
You can bid on this great gift set here!
Although some of them feel a bit silly admitting it, every bride wants to feel like a princess on her wedding day. Some brides ultimately shy away from the princess idea, however. They decide the tiara is a little too much, the ball gown a bit too fancy, the gigantic wedding party a too tough to handle.
And then there are those brides who say, "You'd better believe I'm going all out! This is the one day in my life where I get to be a princess, and I am going to be a princess!"
Holiday House Gifts on MyEventBid has several stunning cake toppers which are perfect for those brides determined to live the fairytale. Take a look at the Cinderella slipper to the left. You can't get more glamorous than this gold rimmed, spun glass topper. Although the slipper certainly recalls the timeless, ever-popular fairytale, it's high arch and stiletto heel make it marvelously modern. And to me, the top looks just like a crown. Talk about being perfect for a princess! Purchase this amazingly detailed item here for just $17.95.
Of course, there's more to Cinderella than her famous glass slipper. Who can forget the magnificent coach which drove her to her destiny? Holiday House has miniaturized this part of the story as well. You'll be stunned by the sparkle on the carriage topper to the right. The spun glass is breathtaking on its own, but what's really special about this particular topper is the sweet gold details: Click here to take a closer look at the precious pumpkin stem, heart-shaped door, and cute coachman's hat. This topper can be yours for the insanely low price of $29.95, but bidding starts at even two dollars less.
If you want to show your guests just how excited you are about happily ever after, there's no better way to do so than by crowning your cake with the castle in which Cinderella presided post wedding. Even if you and your new husband will be living in the tiniest of apartments, your love and happiness will make your home as magnificent as the castle cake topper to the left. My favorite part about this cake topper is the pair of golden ropes that run alongside the glass drawbridge. You must take a look by clicking this link. At just $19.95, this is the cheapest castle on the market.
Brides love to customize. They love to choose colors, designs, fonts, and themes in order to make every aspect of their wedding precisely the way they'd envisioned it . Which is why every bride is certain to love these thoroughly customizable favor boxes by Favor Savings. There are so many ways to make these boxes truly yours.
Step 1: Choose your coloor.
The boxes come in a variety of colors, so you can be sure to choose one that matches your decor.
Step 2: Choose your design.
Having a springy, happy-go-lucky affair? Then the sweet floral design may be just right for you. On the other hand, the paisley print is very versatile. Depending on the color, it has the potential to be summery (red), romantic (pink), edgy (black), or whimsical (blue).
Step 3: Add your names!
No favor box is completely personalized until it bears the names of the happy couple. The boxes also say, "Thank you" to your guests, reminding them that a wedding favor is really a token of appreciation.
Fill the boxes with whatever you like. The contents canbe as simple as M&M's! Beause really, the boxes are great gifts in themselves.
Have fun customizing your box here.
There's something about being a bride that makes a woman suddenly obsessed with stationary. The terms "letterpress" and "monogram" make her heart go, "thumpity-thump," and she could spend hours blisfully browsing through fonts, as well as thumbing through cardstock.
I gotta tell you ...after the wedding, this strange preoccupation does not just disappear. And that is why I'm more than happy to surf MyEventBid's new collection of table number, placecard, and favor tag ensembles being sold by Favor Savings.
Coordinating your wedding is easy when using preprinted ensembles like these, and they're stylish enough to be used as inspiration for your entire event!
I love the chocolate/orange color combination of the "Impress Ensemble" to the left. Orange is such a happy, modern color, yet it's often overlooked at weddings. Make it the focus of your event, and you'll surely stand out from the crowd The touch of brown really grounds this design, making it less punchy bright and more naturally sophisticated. The precious poppy design is perfect for a California couple (the poppy is California's state flower), and the breezy italic font is both classy and carefree. Bid on this set here.
The "Together Ensemble" to the right is one way to bring elegance to an otherwise casual beach wedding. The aqua swirls evoke ocean waves. and the cleanness of the overall design is delightfully breezy. I love the addition of silver to the ensemble. It brings a welcome coolness to an event that may be occuring during the sweltering summer months. I feel perfectly refreshed just looking at these cards! Learn more about this collection here.
My favorite of these paper ensembles is the "Connected Ensemble" at the left, perhaps because it reminds me of so many different things! The charming pinwheel motif makes me think of a patchwork quilt, a a picnic blanket, a garden, a top ...it's great for a cheery, outdoor festival! See it up close by clicking this link.
There are plenty more of these collections to choose from. Browse through them all at the MyEventBid "Buy" list!
Look alive, brides-to-be! There are some gorgeous newly-posted wedding dresses up for grabs at MyEventBid!
The Monique Luo gown to the left is especially exquisite! I've said before that I'm a dramatic personality, so it's only natural that I just adore the feathery tulle and organza ruffles cascading down the length of this dress. And the drama doesn't end there. The strapless top features sparkly, elaborate beading. If you're determined to be a show stopper of a bride, hurry over and make an offer on this dress ...or buy it now for just $500! You can find this auction here.
The Demetrios dress to the right is also impossible to ignore. Made from the most luxurious satin (doesn't the fabric look oh so rich and smooth?), it's timeless, well-structured, and statuesque. Click here to examine the dress' interesting detailing. The crisp folds at the neckline and bows down the back bring to this ballgown just the right amount of modernity. Selling for just $700 or the best offer.
Buying a preowned wedding dress is always a smart choice. In doing so, you're both saving your money and the environment, since creating and selling new garments expends energy and natural resources. That said, it's always best to try on a few gowns before you buy online. You may be surprised by what shape and style looks best on your body.
Finally, ladies, I'd like to call your attention once more to the left. Here we have a real stun gun of a gown by St. Pucchi, one of my personal favorite wedding dress designers. St. Pucchi creates gowns for the bold sort of bride, the type who isn't afraid to make a real statement. The seller of this dress is asking for just $1,100, which is, in all honesty, a real steal. While I love everything about this dress, from the chapel train to the rich ruffles, my favorite part is the unique, delicate beading on the sleeves. Click here to take a closer look.
The Unity Candle Ceremony has recently become a popular way for brides and grooms to involve their respective families in their wedding ceremony. Designed to symbolize the merging of the two families, the ceremony requires members of each family (usually the mothers) to use separate candles to light one singular flame. Print Canada Store is currently auctioning a Family Unity Set which includes all materials necessary for conducting this touching tradition in the making. To visit this exciting auction, click here.
Because unity candles are lit just briefly during the wedding ceremony, they remain intact and can therefore make excellent post wedding keepsakes. Place them on your mantlepiece upon returning from your honeymoon: they're sure to be great conversation starters when entertaining at your newlywed nest!
Print Canada allows customers to personalize their sets, thereby creating items especially worthy of display. The candles may be stamped not only with the couples' names, but also with a saying or verse which holds for them a special meaning. If you are looking for a way to honor a deceased loved one during your ceremony, you can inscribe a candle with, "In loving memory of ___."
Personally, I love the idea behind the Unity Candle Ceremony. With so much attention focused on the bride and groom throughout the wedding day, it's nice to see other members of the family included in such a significant way. Because the Unity Candle Ceremony is not connected to any particular religion, it can be incofrporated into weddings of all types. A talented officiant should have no problem finding the right words with which to introduce the ceremony. However, Weddings Galore features some touching language on the subject if you find yourself in search of some additional inspiration.
So, if you're looking for a way to make your ceremony a bit more special, look no further than the Unity Candle Ceremony! Print Canada's beautiful Family Unity Set is the perfect place to start.
Believe it or not, even as a bride, I was never too big on flowers. When planning our wedding, I had no problem keeping the flower budget as low as we could go. Instead of carrying bouquets, my brides and I carried peacock feather fans. Not only did we save money by not having personal flowers, our wedding was more unique because of this little detail! And while flowers eventually wither and die, my friends and I will have our fans forever.
Lanterns are a favorite flower alternative of mine. Not only can your bridesmaids carry them down the aisle, they also make great centerpieces! Many venues don't allow the presence of an open flame, but if you put battery operated candles inside your lanterns, few will recognize the difference.
For me, a procession of bridesmaids carrying lanterns during an outdoor evening wedding is especially romantic and magical. The idea reminds me of fireflies! And in winter, a white lantern as a centerpiece, flanked by pinecones and red rose petals, is both interesting and appropriate.
MyEventBid has such a wide variety of lanterns up for auction! Mostly from Holiday House Gifts, the lanterns come in sets of twelve, which means you can put one on every table.
Many brides use Chinese decor as a form of inspiration for their weddings. A traditional red and black color scheme makes this sort of theme both modern and dramatic. If you're bringing a taste of China to your wedding, lanterns like the one on the left would look perfect in either a bridesmaid's hand or placed on a table top. Put an LED candle inside the lantern, and the Chinese characters, which spell out "Joy", "Peace", "Love", and "Harmony", will emit an ethereal glow. You can bid on these 12 beautiful lanterns here.
Other ideas for incorporating Chinese elements into your event include using cherry or plum blossom motifs, handing out fortune cookies as favors, and stamping menu or table cards with the traditional "Double Happiness" character. Having originated during the ancient Tang dynasty, this character is almost always included in a young Chinese couple's wedding. Click here to learn about its very romantic background.
Not sure you want to take your wedding guests to China? How about mysterious Morocco? Holiday House Gifts is also selling a spicy set of Moroccan lanterns, complete with ocean blue glass and intricately carved caps. A Moroccan themed wedding is always a feast for the senses. Lots of pillows upon which to lounge, a wide array of bright jewel tones throughout, and flavorful Middle Eastern food can add to this popular theme. These particular lanterns, found here, can also be hung from above. Because of their many cut-outs and etchings, they'll look particularly stunning once lit.
Of course, a wedding "theme" is never a necessity, and there's always the more traditional bride who has no desire to take her guests on a trip around the world. Holiday House has a lantern for her, too: A simple, white decoration which you can bid on here And if you simply must use flowers in your decor, why not place a cluster inside this open-faced lantern in lieu of a candle?
No matter what type of lantern you choose, you'll be saving money on something to last you for years.
The following scenario will be familiar to many-a-bride:
You're flipping through your favorite bridal magazine, contentedly eyeing the many gorgeous gowns on display, when suddnly, there it is: THE dress. THE one. It's uicsolutely made for you! But wait ...ah yes, there's the hefty pricetag, the inevitable bell knoll of disappointment. "Next!" you think, as you quickly turn the page.
But wait! Such saddened haste is never entirely necessary! Sites like MyEventBid could be selling the thought-to-be-unaffordable dress, of your dreams for less ...much less. Take a look at these beauties, for example:
This satin ivory gown by Mon Cheri Is absolute show-stopper! How I love a touch of gold on a bridal gown. Such a warm glow is a welcome addition to the stark white we're so used to seeing.
Ah yes, I love this dress ...the intricate golden embroidery, the rich ivory satin and the on-trend addition of a belt combine to form pure glamour without going over the top. This dress is formal enough for the biggest of bashes, but would also do just fine at a more casual, intimate affair.
And then there's the train, perfectly complimented by the beautiful scalloped hem. I have to say, I am a real sucker for trains. There's something so regal about the way they follow a bride down the aisle. Having a train was a "must" when I was searching for my own wedding gown.
Never altered or worn, this dress is currently selling at $850 after being purchased for $1,100.
Has this dress struck your fancy as well? Click here to bid on it today!
Justin Alexander is one of my all-time favorite wedding designers. When I made my first trip to the bridal salon, I arrived equipped with print-outs of almost every dress from his current collection.
Justin Alexander's completely unique creations never fail to turn heads.I find this particular design, selling here on MyEventBid, to be especially innovative. The bow-shaped brooch on the neckline is sweet and sexy, yet still church appropriate, and the barely-there pleats give the soft, oyster-colored fabric a chic, modern day shape.
You must visit this dress to check out the pics of its back as well. They are equally, if not more, impressive! You'll find a crisper series of pleats framing an unexpected romantic design.
This particular dress is in perfect condition, has never been worn, and is selling for just $600!
Not the ball-gown type? MyEventBid is also featuring this brand new Maggie Sotterro gown at $300 off its original price of $720. I love the way it's styled in the picture below. The feathered hairpin and the strategically coiled updo definitely evoke an "Old Hollywood" vibe.
Do you have what it takes to slink through your reception in this stunner? I, for one, am definitly falling for its silky, lightweight fabric and the romantic ruching throughout. If you'd like to give this deal an extra look, you can visit it here.
Now, ordering a gown online can be tricky. A dress may look one way in pictures, and another way once you actually have it on. Therefore, if you're considering ordering a discounted dress, visit a bridal salon to try on the style first. The staff will never know you're planning on getting a much better deal elsewhere.
